DRAFT — pending legal review
Refunds and withdrawal
Version 2026-10-draft
This is placeholder text. It describes the policy as we run it today; counsel will review the wording.
No refunds
All sales are final. We do not give refunds because you changed your mind, did not like a game, or could not run it, and we do not give refunds at our discretion. The only refunds are the ones below.
1. The 14-day right of withdrawal (EU, EEA and UK)
If your billing country is in the European Union, the rest of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) or the United Kingdom, the law lets you withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason until the end of the 14th day after the day you paid. We keep it open for 15 days and an hour after payment, so it never closes early wherever you are.
- At checkout you agree that the withdrawal right ends once you download the game or play it. You are asked to tick that box before you pay, and we repeat it in your receipt email.
- If you have not downloaded or played the game and the withdrawal period has not ended, you can withdraw from your library page. We refund the full price you paid, including tax, to your original payment method.
- The first download or play after you agreed ends the right. We record the time of that first access.
- This right does not depend on where you live now. It follows the billing country of the order.
2. Automatic refunds
These refunds happen by themselves, without you asking:
- If you buy a game you already own (for example two checkouts that finish at the same time), the second purchase is refunded in full.
- If a purchase is billed to a country we cannot serve because of sanctions law, it is cancelled and refunded in full. See Sanctions.
- If your account was deleted before a payment you started went through, the purchase is cancelled and refunded in full.
3. Card chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, the card network decides the dispute under its rules. While a dispute is open we may restrict access to the game and the money held for the developer. If you win, the sale is reversed. If you lose, nothing changes. We would rather you contact us first; see Contacts.
When a refund can't go through
Sometimes a refund we owe you (a withdrawal or one of the automatic refunds above) can't be paid automatically: for example when your card issuer is handling a dispute about the payment, or the payment processor refuses the refund for another reason. For a withdrawal, your library then says "We couldn't refund this payment automatically". For an automatic refund, the notice you see when you come back from checkout says so. Either way we are told at once, and we follow up to settle it. [TBD by counsel: how and how fast we settle it]
Australia
Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply to digital goods that are faulty. We do not claim they are excluded. How they work alongside the no-refund rule above is [TBD by counsel].
Developer fees
The $10 listing fee a developer pays for each new game is not refunded unless the law requires it.
What happens to the developer
When a sale is refunded or withdrawn, the developer's share and any remix royalty from that sale are reversed in proportion. Payouts are held for 16 days after a sale so that refunds and withdrawals can be settled before money moves.
